Stolen Car Suspects Arrested

Newark – After deliberately crashing a stolen car into a sheriff’s vehicle, two male suspects were arrested this afternoon.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated the Patrol Division officers from his department spotted a 2005 Lexus ES that was reported stolen out of Newark this morning at the intersection of Nye Avenue and Clinton Place in Irvington. The sheriff added that when his officers activated overhead lights and siren to effect a motor vehicle stop the suspect vehicle slammed head-on into the sheriff’s marked patrol cruiser.

Guns & Drugs Seized

Newark – In response to neighborhood complaints of drug trafficking in the city’s South Ward, Essex County sheriff’s detectives last night recovered two loaded handguns and a bag of marijuana.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that officers from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics observed several males loitering in front of 120 Seth Boyden Terrace at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The men were detained while the BON detectives conducted a search of the immediate area.

Adult & Juvenile Arrested on Guns and Drug Charges

Newark – A suspect was arraigned today on weapons and drug charges following his arrest along with a juvenile accomplice on Tuesday by Essex County sheriff’s detectives.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that officers from his department’s Bureau on Narcotics conducted a surveillance operation yesterday afternoon at 74 Crane Street prior to executing a search warrant for the single family residence.

Sheriff Fontoura said the BON detectives observed the subject of the search warrant, Marvin Eure, Jr., age 19, and a 17-year-old male juvenile exit the premises. The juvenile walked to a row of bushes outside the house and secreted a black object into them. The pair then walked away towards a local grocery store.
