Adult and Juvenile Gun Suspects Arrested

Newark – A Newark man was arraigned today on weapons charges following his arrest, along with a juvenile accomplice, by Essex County sheriff’s officers.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that Paul Seburn, age 42, and a 15-year-old female were arrested at 9:30 a.m. yesterday outside of 661 South 18th Street by detectives from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics. Fontoura said that at the time of the arrests Seburn was found to have a fully loaded, 9mm, semi-automatic Intratec handgun in his waistband and the female juvenile was found to have a .380 caliber, semi-automatic Davis Industries handgun in her purse.

Reward Offer: Murder of 2 Union County Men

NewarkEssex County law enforcement authorities today posted a cash reward offer for the suspect wanted in the shooting death of two Union County men in Newark.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that the Crimestoppers program will pay up to $5,000 for details that lead to the arrest of the person wanted for the murders of Aldula Davis, age 38, of Elizabeth, and Shareef Burton, age 32, of Hillside. The victims were gunned down outside 117 Ridgewood Avenue at 1:30 a.m. on April 29, 2010.

Sheriff's Officers Team with Belleville and Nutley Police in Drug Arrest

Newark – A suspected drug dealer was arraigned today following his arrest yesterday by Essex County sheriff’s narcotics detectives and officers from the Belleville and Nutley police departments.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that Joseph DeLeva, age 45, of Belleville was detained by officers outside a Bloomfield restaurant early on Wednesday afternoon as detectives from the Bureau of Narcotics executed a search warrant, issued by Superior Court Judge Robert Gardner, at his residence, located at 23 Belmont Avenue.

Illegal Turn Leads to Drug Arrests

Newark – After making an illegal right turn near the Essex County court complex, a man and his juvenile male companion were arrested by sheriff’s officers and drug charges were filed against them.

Reward Offer: Kidnapping and Sexual Assault Suspect

IrvingtonEssex County law enforcement authorities today posted a cash reward offer for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect wanted for kidnapping and sexual assault.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that the Crimestoppers program would pay up to $5,000 for details about a male suspect who kidnapped a female near Wainwright Street in Newark at 2:00 p.m. on March 19, 2010. Fontoura said the suspect lured the woman into his older model, dark green mini van, possibly a Mercury Villager, and drove her to a location in Irvington where he sexually assaulted her.
