Newark – A suspect was arraigned this morning on weapons and drug charges following his arrest yesterday by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that officers from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics executed a search warrant at mid-afternoon on Monday for a residence located at 16 North 13th Street.
After receiving no response to their repeated knocks at the front door, the sheriff’s BON officers made a forced entry into the residence.Akeem Creese, a 27-year-old native of Trinidad and the target of an on-going investigation, was detained while the premises was searched.
Newark – Law enforcement authorities today posted a cash reward offer on the one-year anniversary of a homicide.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura said the Crimestoppers program would pay up to $5,000 for details that lead to an arrest in the shooting death of Brandon Ellis, age 25, of East Orange who was fatally killed by multiple gunshot wounds at on November 27, 2011.The murder occurred in the area of South 11th Street and 13th Avenue in Newark.

Newark – A suspect was arraigned today on multiple weapons and drug charges following his arrest by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives last night.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that a 2006 Chrysler 300 involved in a shooting event on Wednesday night was found parked in front of 402 Mt. Prospect Avenue on Thursday evening by a sheriff’s officer on patrol in that vicinity.
The sheriff added that detectives from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics were provided this information and they conducted a plainclothes stake-out on the suspect vehicle.
