Newark – Four suspects were arraigned this morning on drug and weapons charges following their arrest yesterday by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives in two separate plainclothes operations in the city.Two other persons were also arrested during the incidents.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that detectives from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics, armed with a search warrant for the residence of Joseph “Whackshine” Feliciano, a known Bloods gang member, established surveillance at the suspect’s home, located at 71 Tiffany Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon.
Newark – A suspect in a car theft ring was captured by EssexCounty sheriff’s officers last night after a series of run-ins with the suspect throughout the day.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that officers from his department on routine quality of life patrol observed a parked 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with no front license plate parked in front of 195 First Street shortly before on Tuesday.
Upon accessing the vehicle’s status by running the rear license plate and the vehicle identification number for its possible criminal history, it was determined that the vehicle was stolen from an auto yard operated by CSX Railroad Police in Elizabeth.It was further determined that the vehicle was wanted for latent fingerprints as part of a cache of stolen cars from the same location within the past month.
Newark – Two suspected drug dealers, their two juvenile accomplices, and three drug buyers were arrested today in two separate incidents by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that officers from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics conducted surveillance operations at two known high activity drug trafficking areas in the city this afternoon.
Sheriff Fontoura said that StephenCraneVillage was the first location for the on-going BON investigations.Fontoura added that BON detectives observed two alleged hand-to-hand narcotics transactions between passersby and Dawoo Council, age 22, and his 16-year-old male accomplice shortly after today.
4 Arrested: Semi-Auto Handgun, Carjacked Vehicle and Stolen Car Recovered

Newark – A semi-automatic handgun, a carjacked vehicle and a stolen car were recovered by EssexCounty sheriff’s officers and four juvenile males from Newark were arrest in separate incidents this morning and Saturday evening.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that officers from his department were on patrol at on Saturday when they spotted a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am reported carjacked in Newark on Friday night near the intersection of Clifton and 7th Avenues.
Sheriff Fontoura said the suspect vehicle was followed and surrounded when it pulled into a parking lot at 45 Cutler Street.
Orange Suspect Arrested with Semi-Auto Handgun and Pound of Marijuana

Newark – An Orange man was arraigned today on multiple weapons and narcotics charges following his arrest yesterday by EssexCounty sheriff’s officers and Orange police.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that detectives from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics and the Orange Police Department conducted a surveillance operation as part of an on-going drug investigation at 457 Maryland Street in Orange late Monday afternoon prior to executing a search warrant at that location.
