Orange Suspect Arrested with Semi-Auto Handgun and Pound of Marijuana

Newark – An Orange man was arraigned today on multiple weapons and narcotics charges following his arrest yesterday by EssexCounty sheriff’s officers and Orange police.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that detectives from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics and the Orange Police Department conducted a surveillance operation as part of an on-going drug investigation at 457 Maryland Street in Orange late Monday afternoon prior to executing a search warrant at that location.
Newark – In separate incidents this morning and last night, two suspects were arrested by EssexCounty sheriff’s officers and three weapons and a cache of drugs were recovered.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that detectives from his department executed a bench warrant for drug crimes and non-support on Lashawn Gause, age 35, at his residence, located at 303 South 19th Street, Newark, early this morning.
When the sheriff’s detectives arrived on the scene they were confronted by three unleashed adult pitbulls.After securing the dogs, the suspect’s grandmother gave the sheriff’s officers permission to search the apartment for Gause.
Newark – Law enforcement authorities today posted a cash reward offer in a city homicide case.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura said the Crimestoppers program will pay up to $5,000 for details that lead to an arrest for the murder of Ibn Williams, then age 20, who was shot to death in the area of 89 – 91 Plymouth Street at 1:00 p.m. on August 12, 2011.

Suspected Gunrunner Arrested

Newark – An out-of-state suspect was arraigned this morning on multiple weapons charges following his arrest on Friday by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that as part of an on-going investigation into gun trafficking in the city detectives from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics conducted a plainclothes surveillance operation in the area of 21 Leslie Street just before p.m.on Friday.
At that time, Sheriff Fontoura said the BON detectives observed as a green 2002 Ford Escape, driven by Joseph Vanbrackle, age 39 of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, pulled up in front of the location.Vanbrackle then exited his vehicle and tossed a large black duffle bag into the bushes in front of 21 Leslie Street.
