Newark – Law enforcement authorities today posted a cash reward offer in a city homicide case.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura said the Crimestoppers program will pay up to $5,000 for details that lead to an arrest for the murder of Ibn Williams, then age 20, who was shot to death in the area of 89 – 91 Plymouth Street at 1:00 p.m. on August 12, 2011.

Suspected Gunrunner Arrested

Newark – An out-of-state suspect was arraigned this morning on multiple weapons charges following his arrest on Friday by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that as part of an on-going investigation into gun trafficking in the city detectives from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics conducted a plainclothes surveillance operation in the area of 21 Leslie Street just before p.m.on Friday.
At that time, Sheriff Fontoura said the BON detectives observed as a green 2002 Ford Escape, driven by Joseph Vanbrackle, age 39 of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, pulled up in front of the location.Vanbrackle then exited his vehicle and tossed a large black duffle bag into the bushes in front of 21 Leslie Street.

At on December 7, 2011, Newark police responded to 25 Irvine Turner Boulevard for a shooting in progress.Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered Wright, then age 21, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that the Crimestoppers program will pay up to $5,000 for details that lead to an arrest in the shooting death of Kamilah Ali, age 41, who was shot once in the head while standing at the front door entrance to her home, located at 875 South 17th Street.
The murder occurred at on Wednesday, October 10, 2012.
