Newark – A male suspect was arraigned today on drug charges following his arrest on Friday by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives.And, following a second arrest, an East Orange man was arraigned on weapons and assault charges.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated as part of an on-going investigation into drug trafficking in the city’s South Ward officers from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics executed a search warrant on Friday afternoon for an apartment at 116 Chadwick Avenue.The apartment’s occupant, Khalil Brown, age 32, was the target of the investigation.
August 13, 2012 - Newark, NJ) –– Public Service Electric and Gas Co. (PSE&G) is recommending that its gas heating customers test their heating systems now, before the chilly weather arrives. If there’s a problem, PSE&G will come out to start the unit -- at no charge -- through September 9, 2012.
“Chilly weather will be here soon, and one of the best things our gas heating customers can do now is to check their system to ensure safe and efficient operation before the colder weather arrives,” said Joe Bassolino, PSE&G’s manager of business development. “By testing their heating systems early, customers will be prepared for the upcoming cold weather. In addition, PSE&G will be able to respond more quickly at this time of the season if there is a problem.”
Drug & Identity Theft Charges Filed Against Nigerian National

Orange – In a joint operation conducted by detectives from the Essex County Sheriff’s Bureau of Narcotics and officers from the Orange Police Department, a Nigerian national was arrested last yesterday afternoon on drug and identity theft charges.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that officers from both departments executed a search warrant issued by Superior Court Judge Michael A. Petrolle for 318 Elizabeth Avenue in Orange.
Newark – EssexCounty law enforcement officials today posted a cash reward offer for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting death of a West Orange bar employee.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that the Crimestoppers program would pay up to $5,000 for details surrounding the murder of Jacques Nelson, age 32, of Orange who was gunned down in the parking lot of Misty’s Restaurant and Bar in West Orange.The shooting occurred on Monday at approximately Nelson was employed as the bouncer at the facility.
