Newark – Law enforcement authorities today posted a cash reward offer for a Newark homicide and reposted a cash reward offer on the hit and run death of a city man.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that the Crimestoppers program would pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect or suspects wanted for the May 5, 2009 shooting death of Christoper Knox, age 25, of Newark.
According to Sheriff Fontoura, Knox was approached by unknown persons at the bus stop at the intersection of South Orange and South Munn avenues at 2:00 a.m. on that date. During a robbery attempt, Knox was fatally shot by one of his assailants.
The gunman and other unknown persons fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle.

Fontoura said that Crimestoppers reposted its reward offer of up to $5,000 for information surrounding the death of Jacques Mabour, age 74, of Newark.
Mabour was struck by a black 2010 Jaguar at noon on August 27, 2009 as he was crossing the roadway at 72 Mount Vernon Place. The Jaguar had been reported stolen out of South Orange just minutes before the hit and run homicide.
