Alleged Heroin Dealer Arrested and Arraigned PDF Print E-mail

Newark – A suspect was arraigned today on multiple drug charges following her arrest last night by Essex County sheriff’s officers.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that detectives from the Bureau of Narcotics conducted a month-long investigation at 754 South 11th Street and executed a search warrant, issued by Superior Court Judge Michael Petrolle, for the first floor apartment on Monday evening.

Discovered on top of a kitchen cabinet were 235 decks of heroin. 161 of the decks were labeled “Incredible Hulk” in green ink and 74 decks were labeled “911” in red ink.

Charlene Rogers, age 34, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of CDS with intent to distribute and possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public housing complex.

At today’s arraignment, Judge Amilkar Velez – Lopez ordered Rogers to be held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in lieu of $70,000 cash bond only.
