Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that Derric Scott, age 41, of East Orange, arrived at the government complex, located at 50 South Clinton Street, prior to the building’s 8:00 a.m. opening.

With the assistance of Officer Anthony Stoia and security guards Arnold Johnson and Ignacio Pimental, Scott was subdued and taken into custody.

During the arrest Stoia, Johnson and Pimental also suffered injuries to their backs and legs. All four officers were taken to Mountainside Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
