Irvington – Sheriff Armando Fontoura today announced a cash reward offer for information that leads to the arrest of Byron Stokely who is wanted by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Irvington Police Department on charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping and weapons charges.
Sheriff Fontoura said the Crimestoppers program would pay up to $2,500 for details of Stokely’s whereabouts.
On March 29, 2013, Stokely is alleged to have thrown a pot of boiling water, mixed with oil, on his ex-wife while she was asleep in her home. The victim was severely burned.
Stokely’s last known address is 658 grove Street, Irvington. His most recent employer is the Prudential Center in Newark.
