March 31, 2017 Reward Offered for Information in Murder of Maplewood Grandmother Newark – The Essex County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fatal shooting of Deborah Burton, 62, of Maplewood. Ms. Burton was fatally shot in Newark on March 13, in the area of 43 Third Street. The incident happened at approximately 1:15 p.m. She was pronounced dead at 2:31 p.m.
