Suspect Arrested & Arraigned on Gun and Drug Charges

Newark – A city man was arraigned today on drug and weapons charges following his arrest by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives on Monday.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that as part of an on-going investigation into drug trafficking in the Vailsburg section of Newark officers from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics conducted a plainclothes surveillance operation at the intersection of Unity and Stuyvesant avenues before on Monday.
Newark – An East Orange suspect was arraigned today on drug and weapons charges following his arrest on Wednesday by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that as part of an on-going investigation into the delivery of large amounts of drugs throughout Newark and East Orange officers from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics conducted a surveillance operation yesterday afternoon at the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot, located at the intersection of Park Avenue and North 6th Street in Newark.
Sheriff Fontoura said the BON detectives observed as the target of their investigation, Michael “Kung Fu Mike” Fields of East Orange, age 38, pulled his 2001 Chrysler 300M into the lot and parked.
Suspect with Weapon & Drugs Arrested and Arraigned

Newark – An East Orange man was arraigned today on weapons and drug charges following his arrest yesterday by EssexCounty sheriff’s officers.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that Officers Christopher Bozios and Dennis Kihlberg were on routine patrol when they observed a narcotics sale take place shortly before on Wednesday near the intersection of Springfield Avenue and 22nd Street, a known drug trafficking area.
When the uniformed officers approached the suspect, Altariq Patterson, age 29, of East Orange he attempted to flee the scene on foot.Bozios and Kihlberg caught up with Paterson after a brief chase and the officers struggled to subdue him.
Newark – EssexCounty sheriff’s officers this morning recovered a stolen car carrier and five new SUV’s that were reported stolen out of UnionTownship on Saturday.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that Sergeant Joseph Acinapura was on routine patrol on Frelinghuysen Avenue at 9:20 a.m. yesterday when he came upon what appeared to be a motor vehicle accident between two 2012 Land Rover SUV’s at the intersection of Concord Street.
Newark – Three male suspects were arraigned today following their arrests in separate incidents by EssexCounty sheriff’s detectives on Friday in the city’s North Ward.During the arrests more than $20,000 in illegal narcotics was confiscated.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that the first arrest which was part of an on-going investigation occurred at when officers from his department’s Bureau of Narcotics, armed with a search warrant for the basement apartment at 337 North 7th Street, conducted a surveillance operation at that location.
