Reward Increased in Newark Homicide Case

Newark - Law enforcement seeks the public's help in finding a man wanted for questioning in a fatal shooting which occurred in Newark more than one and one-half years ago. Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that his department's Crimestoppers program has increased its cash reward which now stands at up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the person who shot and killed Bruce Santos, 26, in the area of Broad and Camp Streets on February 26, 2013.
Reward Offered In East Orange Murder

East Orange - Law enforcement authorities today announced a cash reward offer for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting death of Edwin Gibson. Sheriff Armando Fontoura said that his department's Crimestoppers program would pay up to $10,000 for details surrounding the crime.
Suspect Arrested & Arraigned on Multiple Drug Charges

Newark – An alleged narcotics distributor was arraigned this morning on multiple drug charges following his arrest on Tuesday by Essex County sheriff’s detectives. Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that officers from his department’s Bureau on Narcotics conducted a plainclothes surveillance operation at 36 – 38 Martin Luther King Boulevard prior to executing a search warrant for the first floor apartment at that location. Sheriff Fontoura said that the BON detectives observed the target of their investigation, Mayor Donaldson, age 52, in conversation with a male passerby in front of his residence. Donaldson then entered his apartment, returned and exchanged items with the passerby, later identified as Alvin Clay, age 50, also of Newark, for cash.
Rewards Offered in 2 South Ward Murders

Newark - Law enforcement authorities today posted cash reward offers in the murders of two men who were shot and killed in the city's South Ward last week. Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that his department's Crimestoppers program will pay up to $10,000 in each case that leads to an arrest. Sheriff Fontoura said the first incident occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday, August 21st when Rufus "Al-Tariq" Jordan was shot on the 200-block of Leslie Street.
4 Suspects Arrested on Drug Charges

Newark – As a result of two separate undercover investigations conducted on Tuesday by the Essex County Sheriff’s Bureau of Narcotics, four male suspects were arrested and the two principal suspects were arraigned this morning at criminal Central Judiciary Processing court, Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that during a plainclothes surveillance operation near the intersection of Weequahic Avenue and Clinton Place in the city’s South Ward the sheriff’s BON detectives observed Jessie Tullies, age 49 of Hillside, loitering in the area. “The suspect was well known to our officers from previous arrests,” Fontoura noted.
