NewarkEssex County sheriff’s detectives today arrested a Newark woman and filed multiple drug charges against her.

Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated that detectives from his department arrived at 109 Seth Boyden Terrace early this afternoon to execute an arrest warrant for Karriem Reason, age 38, for failure to appear at a court mandated supervision program. Reason had been arrested 29 times and convicted 10 times on drug trafficking charges.

Sheriff Fontoura said that Robin Hall, age 40, was in Reason’s apartment when the officers arrived. Hall told the officers that she was Reason’s girlfriend and that the suspect had just left to apartment.

Sheriff’s detectives combed the area for Reason in vehicles and on foot. Within a few moments, Hall was observed leaving the housing complex with a black plastic bag. When Hall spotted the sheriff’s detectives she dropped the bag and attempted to return to the apartment.

The bag was found to contain 356 vials of “crack” cocaine and Hall was placed under arrest.

Hall was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of the Dayton Street School and possession of CDS within 500 feet of a public housing complex.

Hall’s bail will be set later today and she will be arraigned in criminal Central Judicial Processing court later this week.
