Photography and Crime Scene

The Photography Section currently maintains a database of over one half million photos available for investigation, identification and court presentation. These photos are part of a regional interagency system that evolved from HIDTA, the federal High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area initiative. The photographs are available to all law enforcement agencies.

Specially trained officers are available to take photographs of crime scenes for criminal activity that occurs on Essex County property, or is under investigation by Sheriff’s Office personnel.
